Kunwinjku Fine Art specialises in traditional Aboriginal artwork from Western Arnhem Land, NT.
The business is a partnership between Leslie & Alison Nawirridj.
Leslie Nawirridj is a renowned senior artist whose artworks have been collected by the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra and the National Gallery of Victoria. Leslie's paintings are popular nationally and internationally.
Paintings of local animals and dreamtime stories are also sourced from Leslie's tribal family from Western Arnhem Land. Thousands of years ago the Kunwinjku ancestors painted onto the rocks. Today's generation of artists follow this same "x-ray" style of art which features fine-line cross-hatching called "rarrk".
All our artworks are catalogued, signed on the back and sold with a certificate of the artist.
Kunwinjku Fine Art also sells pandanus fibre art with colours made from natural bush dyes. Baskets, bowls, mats, wall hangings and dilly bags are expertly woven by the family of Aboriginal artists to create stunning and functional collectors' items.
